BIBLE IS A BOOK OF TERROR AND VIOLENCE
Bible is a book of violence:
1) Jesus himself saying "Kill the enemies" in
Luke 19:27
But as for these enemies of mine who did not want me to
reign over them--bring them here and slaughter them in my presence! (Luke
19:27)
2) Hit the slaves or servants
"When a man strikes his male or female slave with
a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If,
however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since
the slave is his own property." (Exodus 21:20-21 NAB)
In the following parable, Jesus clearly approves of
beating slaves even if they didn't know they were doing anything wrong:
"The servant will be severely punished, for though
he knew his duty, he refused to do it. “But people who are not aware that they
are doing wrong will be punished only lightly. Much is required from those to
whom much is given, and much more is required from those to whom much more is
given." (Luke 12:47-48 NLT)
3) Gouge your eyes, cut your hand and foot
“Woe to the world because of the things that cause
people to sin! Such things must come, but woe to the man through whom they
come! 8If your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it
away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two
hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. 9And if your eye causes you
to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with
one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell. (Matthew
18:7-9)
4) Kill disobedient children
Jesus criticizes the Jews for not killing their
disobedient children as required by Old Testament law in Mark 7:9-11. (Read
Ex.21:15, Lev.20:9, Deut.21:18-21)
“And He [Jesus] said to them, ‘You have a fine way of
rejecting the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition! For Moses
said, Honor your father and your mother, and, He who curses or reviles or
speaks evil of or abuses or treats improperly his father or mother, let him
surely die. But you say, A man is exempt if he tells [his] father or [his]
mother, What you would otherwise have gained from me is Corban, that is, is a
gift [already given as an offering to God].” (Mark 7:9-11)
5) Hate your father, mother, wife, children, brother
and sister
''If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father
and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters—yes, even his own
life—he cannot be my disciple.” (Luke 14:26)
6) Women must remain in silence
“A woman should learn in quietness and full submission.
I don't permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be
silent. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam wasn't the one deceived;
it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner (1Timothy 2:11-15)
7) Cut women hair
For if a woman does not cover her
head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a
woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her
head (1Corinthians 11:6).
8) Kill adulterers and adulteress
The Bible decrees the death sentence for both the
adulterer and the adulteress (Leviticus 20:10).
“The man who commits adultery with another's wife, even
his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to
death. (Lev. 20:10)
The Bible only considers the extramarital affair of a
married woman as adultery (Leviticus 20:10, Deuteronomy 22:22, Proverbs
6:20-7:27). The extramarital affair of a married man isn't per se a crime in
the Bible. Why this dual moral standard? The New Testament echoes the same
attitude in Matthew 5:31-32, where it is attributed to Jesus to have said,
"I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital
unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the
divorced woman commits adultery." Why didn't he label the man who divorces
his wife and marries another woman as adulterer too?
9) Kill Followers of Other Religions
"If your own full brother, or your son or
daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to
serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other
nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do
not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or
shield him, but kill him. Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the
rest of the people shall join in with you. You shall stone him to death,
because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you
out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. And all Israel, hearing of
this, shall fear and never do such evil as this in your midst."
(Deuteronomy 13:7-12 NAB)
10) Kill persons who lie in the name of God.
“If a man still prophesies, his parents, father and
mother, shall say to him, "You shall not live, because you have spoken a
lie in the name of the Lord." When he prophesies, his parents, father and
mother, shall thrust him through. (Zechariah 13:3 NAB)
11) Exterminate 7 Nations
"You must destroy all the nations the LORD your
God hands over to you. Show them no mercy and do not worship their gods. If you
do, they will trap you. Perhaps you will think to yourselves, 'How can we ever
conquer these nations that are so much more powerful than we are?' But don't be
afraid of them! Just remember what the LORD your God did to Pharaoh and to all
the land of Egypt. Remember the great terrors the LORD your God sent against
them. You saw it all with your own eyes! And remember the miraculous signs and
wonders, and the amazing power he used when he brought you out of Egypt. The
LORD your God will use this same power against the people you fear. And then
the LORD your God will send hornets to drive out the few survivors still hiding
from you! "No, do not be afraid of those nations, for the LORD your God is
among you, and he is a great and awesome God. The LORD your God will drive
those nations out ahead of you little by little. You will not clear them away
all at once, for if you did, the wild animals would multiply too quickly for
you. But the LORD your God will hand them over to you. He will throw them into
complete confusion until they are destroyed. He will put their kings in your
power, and you will erase their names from the face of the earth. No one will
be able to stand against you, and you will destroy them all." (Deuteronomy
7:16-24 NLT)
12) Kill Everyone in 7 Nations
" When the LORD your God brings you into the land
you are about to enter and occupy, he will clear away many nations ahead of
you: the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and
Jebusites. These seven nations are all more powerful than you. When the LORD
your God hands these nations over to you and you conquer them, you must
completely destroy them. Make no treaties with them and show them no mercy. Do
not intermarry with them, and don't let your daughters and sons marry their sons
and daughters. They will lead your young people away from me to worship other
gods. Then the anger of the LORD will burn against you, and He will destroy
you. (Deuteronomy 7:1-4 NLT)
13) Children Killing
"The glory of Israel will fly away like a bird, for
your children will die at birth or perish in the womb or never even be
conceived. Even if your children do survive to grow up, I will take them from
you. It will be a terrible day when I turn away and leave you alone. I have
watched Israel become as beautiful and pleasant as Tyre. But now Israel will
bring out her children to be slaughtered." O LORD, what should I request
for your people? I will ask for wombs that don't give birth and breasts that
give no milk. The LORD says, "All their wickedness began at Gilgal; there
I began to hate them. I will drive them from My land because of their evil
actions. I will love them no more because all their leaders are rebels. The
people of Israel are stricken. Their roots are dried up; they will bear no more
fruit. And if they give birth, I will slaughter their beloved children."
(Hosea 9:11-16 NLT)
14) Kill all the boys and non-virgin women, enjoy
virgin women
"Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who
has slept with a man, but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept
with a man” (Numbers 31:17-18)
